A Violin Shop
SIGNAGE, STUDENT WORK
To create a signage system for a chosen subject. Because I've played the violin for several years and have experienced the struggle to find replacements for broken pieces, I found it necessary to design a system that would best suit musicians who may need repairs or replacements for their string instruments.
These symbols convey a string instrument's most critical parts: the strings, bridge, bow, and chin rest. Some symbols, like the chin rest and bow, would also allude to other pieces like a shoulder rest and a box of rosin. In the shape of a quarter rest, the wayfinding structures would be implemented throughout orchestral venues holding concerts, competitions, and the like.
