HAPPY’S PIZZA

MISSION

To rebrand a company whose brand identity could use some improvement.

IDEA

I chose to rebrand Detroit-based pizza chain, Happy's Pizza. I saw it very important to retain the elements that expressed their character's spirited personality. The new logotype consists of a more approachable sans serif, which is not too rigid and not too aged like its predecessor, and the new brandmark is a winking emoticon. It is a contemporary symbol with a smile not too enthusiastic but not too shy either. It keeps particular elements like the hat and the initials “H.P.” which have become a ligature, and the colors have been reduced to red and yellow.
