TRAP SNATCH
MISSION
Chicago-based husband and wife duo Chris and Rachel Gregoire started creating games in 2018 as a way to heal from a tragic loss, but also to cultivate and celebrate Black culture. Their parent company and signature game needed a redesign that would rule out any negative connotations, freshen the gameplay vibes, and better capture Black joy.
IDEA
The parent Fam Foolery mark was the first to get a redo with smooth handwritten-like curves and a solid weight to hold up the name.
Next, Chris and Rachel changed what was questionably known as Trap Wars to Trap Snatch, in order to remove negative cultural associations but to also highlight a key feature in the game. Their premier guessing card game was refreshed with a new sleek, speedy, and punchy identity, new card and print design, and new packaging design to really capture that quick and slick gameplay and dial up the fun…and pettiness.
